Nothing. Two weeks ago I gave away my "Duffman" costume - character from the animated tv show "The Simpsons". This costume had a good run from 2007 through 2010 for Halloween. I felt happy just seeing the joy from the freecycler who came to pick it up. I am very sure he will make good use of it tomorrow.
I've already attended the New York City Halloween parade as "Duffman" twice
2009 when it was on a Saturday
and 2010 when it was on a Sunday.
Clearly, the best days for that parade are those years when Halloween falls on a Friday or Saturday night.
And 2008 on a Friday night down in Georgetown University near Washington DC.
But, those are the only places cool and hip enough to understand the character.
The old (where I live, in a retirement community) and the really young (little kids) would have no idea who "Duffman" is.
That's why I thought this year 2011 about going as just a traditional ghost,
and riding around the neighborhood on my tricycle.
But costumes are just too expensive.
Halloween is ALWAYS a giant pain in the ass each time it rolls around and I wonder what, if anything, I should do for it. Whenever I put in the effort, I am ALWAYS grateful that I did. But, if I don't, I am grateful for the relaxation.
