Dragon Ranger said: About a half hour ago, I tried to download "the Snob" from BigSam's download store, and the
EPOCH.com site had my old debit on record, (I just received a new one, but the listed card was still attached to my account.)
So after tirelessly trying to find a way to update for my new debit (I looked for over an hour) I got fed up and impulse took over and I used the old card. So I put in the 3 digit number on the back of the card and clicked I agree.
The page reloaded twice, and I was sent to a receipt so I assumed everything was fine, and clicked take me to my download, and was sent to the page where it told me I haven't bought anything recently, but I can start browsing now. (I'm sure you know of the page)
So I called my account and had 3 holds for 10.00 So I called my bank and had them decline the payments as I did not receive the clip, yet I may still have to pay one payment for 10.00. (I just called to check my balance, and 2 have been canceled but one is still on hold).
This is just a mess, and I would love to order from the download store again (As this was mostly my fault), but there has to be an easy way to update my billing information and add alternate cards.
Also to MM, if the payment goes through, and I can present proof in form of a scanned bank statement, can I get the clip (As I paid for it, and never received it? I'm sure there must be a way to see proof of this transaction on your end, and the fact I have no active downloads under my transactions.) And I'd like to apologize in advance as if I am sure if I had just been patient and posted an inquiry first, I most likely would not be in this mess.
Thanks in advance.
Hey Dragon, it's not your fault. It's mine. When you sign up to put a credit card on file, Epoch creates an account for you in their system, and assigns you an Epoch member ID. UMD remembers this ID and sends it back to Epoch each time you want to check out. That's how they remember who you are, and that's why you only have to enter your credit card details once, and then just a security code to subsequently buy new videos.
The obvious problem is that cards expire, or you may just want to use a different one. But once UMD knows you have that one card on file with Epoch, UMD will never give you the prompt again to put a new card on file or to change the existing one! I'll take care of this shortly.
So for your case, I don't have any record of any charges going through, either on UMD's end, nor on Epoch. I doubt any of them will be placed. If you did get a receipt confirming purchases, please forward that to
messmaster@umd.net, and I'll have a look. If you got a "receipt" that was something other than a purchase confirmation, then it may well have been a decline notice. If it turns out to be the case that a charge did go through, then send me any information you can about it, and we'll make it right.
As a side note, Epoch tells me that the official procedure to switch your card is to contact them at
https://www.epoch.com/billingsupport . As I said, they have 24/7 chat support (and somebody is actually usually there), plus 24/7 phone support, and email support, so take your pick! I'll update UMD's FAQ and other areas so this is more clearly understood. But I'm also going to make it so you can just click a link to clear your old card out, to make it really easy.
Thanks, and I look forward to any info you can send my way.

Stay messy, my friends.
