So Basically I was coming from shopping in my local city and decide to pick up some stuff for my next wam session that will be happening soon. I got two packets of paper plates and two cans of the cheapest shaving cream, but I couldn't help but notice how odd this might seem to some one else.

So my question is, has anyone else felt odd buying the stuff you use to wam with? If you don't why not? Do you make a large purchase to hide the items?

For me it would be even more of a turn on. I would love to find the line of a really hot check out girl and go through with paper plates, about 5 containers of cool whip, pudding and chocolate syrup. She would probably make a comment about these items and then I would say something like, "actually I'm getting ready for a pie throwing fundraiser. I'm going to get 8 pies in the face." Keep in mind that WAM is obscure enough that the clerk's first guess probably is not going to be that something sexual is going on.

Honestly most people probably don't take too much notice since they have been ringing out items hours before you got there. But if you get nervous you could always do what I do. Since I love sliming my girlfriend, what I do is about a month before the wam session rolls around I buy everything in incriments over a period of a few days and maybe with a few other groceries or so.

I find it a turn on too, when buying all the chocolate & cream I use, knowing what I'm going to be doing with it only a short time after. I'm more concerned with what people on the check-out will say, so if I can I'll go to the self-service check-outs. Last time time I bought the stuff, a woman on the till said 'Someone's going to be busy'. I replied that it was for a party. In the past, they've not said anything at all. However, I'll not be put off at the final hurdle by what people say or might be thinking anyway

I don't feel awkward buying the stuff but last time Jon and I were out shopping for a shoot I managed to break the self service checkout by putting 15 cartons of custard through....that was rather embarassing

Usually when I'm getting stuff I spread it out by going to several different stores around town and use the automatic check-outs when I can.

No, but I do get a bunch of looks when I am picking up 30 pudding pies. I had one young cute grocery clerk ask me what I am doing with all of the bakery and I told her with a devilish smile, "why I am having a piefight with 2 strippers!" Her eyes were as big as agates. She did not know if I was kidding or not... I enjoyed mesing with her head.

Not to be cynical, but in 6 years of buying mass quantities of Cool Whip, cake mix, and pie crusts at grocery stores, I've never once come across the hot-yet-intrigued check-out girl. Old-tired-and-bored check-out women? Those I see.

As many others have said, part of the "thrill" and the feeling of being "naughty" comes from buying the items you're going to mess with and acting "normal" while buying them.

In the past I've either totally avoided the situation by having items ordered to my place (online grocery delivery) or having the lady I'm going to get messy with do the "dirty work" and pick up the items, or even better I had a lady who LOVED to bake so she had an excuse to have lots of pies, cakes, and various messy items around the house.

When I've gone out I've usually done so at off peak times to avoid crowds (I've actually walked right to some stores and at the last minute chicken out from it being too busy and actually being paranoid that people really KNOW what I'm going to do with the stuff!) and I breakup my trips. If you stockpile slowly then it's less obvious, however if you don't want to wait then break up the trips by going to different stores on the sameday. In my area I've found sections where there are several grocery or convience stores in a row. Basically I just one into one store, get a few items plus a couple of other things (i.e. bag of chips, pop, magazine) to make it look more normal, then put it into my backpack and go to the next store and do the samething. Only one time I almost got busted since I combined shaving cream and pietins in the same purchase and the guy joked with me about making shaving cream pies (which I chuckled along with and denied!).

I've actually started avoiding the, shall we say, more mature checkout girls and will try to go to one of the young ones whenever possible, even if it means a longer queue. Not because of the "thrill" but because the hot young ones never even bat an eye lid no matter what I'm buying, where as the ones old enough to be my mother...

I shop with Marlicious and it's a turn on, especially when she makes remarks that hint that we are going to be having some kind of fun time.

You're talking to the person who went through the line at my local Whole Foods wearing a "Gelatin Olympics" T shirt. When the cute blond check out girl smiled and asked me what the Gelatin Olympics was I had a great time telling her that it was an event where you get to slide into 700 gallons of strawberry jello! "Wow, that sounds fun!" was her answer.

I'm not sure what stores the rest of you are shopping in, but I have no problem finding hot young girls who love to engage in conversation.

I'm not saying they're WAMers and I would certainly not say anything to tip them off that there is anything sexual going on. My point is, if you get off on hearing these girls say that a pie fight sounds "fun" then its not that hard to accomplish.

Yes I feel weird too when I buy wam supplies, because I buy them in large quantities. The cashiers at some stores give me a stange look and that makes me feel quite embarrased.

I used to feel weird, but at some point I decided I wouldn't do that anymore.

We're all weird, it's just a question of "to what degree?".

LOL. I used to feel that way. When I was a deeply shy introverted soul. That changed with my divorce (& it was brutal matter ) and I went on a journey purging my soul of baggage.
So I finally became an active member on the UMD (and in that sense the greater WAM community - my group, my tribe). I found the community here to be truly friendly, good natured, close and tight net from the start. And I've been involved with other groups & sites and found you have to keep your guard up with all of them. In the WAM community, I found many of the older guys & gals helpful and frequently I would even have to say... 'nurturing'. In the early days I found the words on PieGirlKay's blogs on her webpage helpful in not being ashamed of my Wam. And I came to terms with my WAMming nature. It's not illegal and it's not immoral in & of it's self. Yah.. it's kinda of... weird, but not any more than the rest of the world filled fetishes. A little ..extreme, ...yes... but not to the point of being .. well - sick. Wam & sploshing is really every where and enjoyed to some extent in some way, just not as a forefront thought in most people's minds.
The funny thing is when you walk into those stores, they don't have a clue what you are up to and if the did - they don't really care. I used to do the same thing, go around to different stores and buy small amount so not to attract attention. But it was all in my own head. They don't have the slights idea what you are up to. I keep going back to the same store(near my work) and buy a dozen cans of shave cream at once. I've even bought just pie tins with it and the clerks don't react in any way. They are not WAMer and are clueless. On the rarest of chance someone asks you what it is all for ( and I have been waiting for someone to ask me). If you straight out tell them, they may be shocked at first, but in their hearts they are wishing they could be having as much fun & be as uninhibited as you are.

That's just my thought from my point of view.

Haha Tim... We've got cute girls in the South, just not in the grocery stores!

Without stereotyping TOO much, part of it may be where I shop. Early on, I was buying supplies at the upscale grocery stores (i.e. cute young checkout girls) but quickly realized I could lower my budget by a LOT if I switched to dollar stores and the Wal-Mart SuperCenter (i.e. old redneck women who look like they abandoned hope somewhere around 1997).

When I started shooting, I DID have visions of this whole world opening up... not just encouraging random checkout girls to take a pie... but just approaching cute women on the street, offering my card, explaining my shoots, and bringing in new recruits just like that. A female friend of mine thought the idea was great and we did that off-and-on for a good month. MANY cute girls... quite a few phone numbers... and not one single shoot.

The reason you hire models: They're actively looking for work. The path from "random hottie" to "girl who will actually show up on time for a shoot and be reasonably professional" is too long and treacherous (and frustrating) to seriously waste time with.

(Although I *did* first meet Toshia by randomly approaching her.... )

I had some weird looks when I bought more than one Wal-Mart cream pie in FL a couple times, and I've been asked if I'm going to "get someone's car" when I bought several cans of shaving cream, but for the most part I agree with the comments that people working in the stores don't care. I switched gears a few years ago from trying to see women pied to getting pied by them, and my WAM life has been better ever since. My girlfriend is not into it, but humors me a couple times a month and encourages me to seek a reasonable venue to satisfy the urge. I would love to be in a video like the old "The Pie Girl" scenes from years ago getting completely plastered with pies by a woman or women.
