We had commented earlier on the high water levels this season, and how last year's 'Mud Lake' is still under a couple of feet of water.
We also found what we call 'Clay Lake' which was under only six inches of water when I last reported, but GOOD NEWS! There are portions of clay lake which are now exposed - just lots of nice clay! There are no sticks, rocks, weeds, etc. only pure silky clay!
So we found this out yesterday when we kayaked to the area and Marlicious and I walked along in the foot deep clay only to discover a few holes! At one point she stepped into the clay up to her upper thigh and it took a LOT of effort to get free!
We're hoping for warm weather seeing as the normal high here is about 17c and that is much too cold, as the water to rinse in is much colder, BUT tomorrow may be the last nice day - so we're planning to head out there and hopefully shoot a mud video!
The crazy thing about this clay is that it seems to have no bottom. The 'Clay Pond' clay was only about six inches deep with a very solid clay base that was as hard as smooth rock. This clay can be easily penetrated by pointing ones toes downwards and wiggling your feet around. So we'll get in as deep as possible and hopefully shoot a great video at the same time!
I'll keep you all posted. (and perhaps Marlicious will keep you a breast!) LOL
