I'm new to the site but I've been lurking about for a while

I've been thinking about buying some videos from Vidown although I'm a bit apprehensive about putting in my billing address. Obviously its necessary so I thought I'd ask on here to put my mind at rest. Can the site be trusted payment wise and will anything be sent to the billing address. I live with people who dont know I love Wam so I wouldnt want them finding out through my mail :o

Soundguy is 100% trustworthy, I've never had any problems with any of his stores as a customer or an owner of one. Nothing will be posted to your address. Rest easy and enjoy your videos.

You must be new to buying things on the internet, too. I've never not had to put in my billing address, anywhere I've ever entered a card number.

Just make sure your billing address is not also your HOME address, since Soundguy is well known for hunting down the occasional customer and giving him a walloping beat-down, just for laughs.

A good question. Not only will Soundguy be getting all your personal info, but that info is passed along to the producer you buy from on the Vidown system. The
UMD is pretty much the opposite, where producers don't even know the online handle of their customers. When folks contact us for customs and other inquiries, collection of personal information and related use of it is always one of their questions (and I feel rightly so) and we try to conduct our affairs to offer the maximum amount of anonymity to our buyers.
You can actually have a scene produced, and download it without ever sharing your address, or even your name.
Unfortunately complete anonymity may mean a lot less (or no recourse) in the event of problems.

Just something to weigh.

We never share information with anyone for any reason. I can't say that is an across the board policy for all producers, but just ask and you'll find out.

The people who need your billing address are the bank who are processing the payment, they'll double-check that the card is registered to that address and a whole load of other checks as part of their authorisation system.

When a membership site using CCBill (pretty much the standard adult site payment processor) processes a payment, the site owner gets the customer's name and email address, but no postal address information.

Usually when you purchase digital products, be it WAM downloads or MP3s off Amazon, nothing physical is posted anywhere, as that costs money. Receipts are usually sent via email only.

Vidown is run by Soundguy, who also runs the Mothership and who's been here forever. Never heard a bad word said, and some of the major producers including Erik from Holland use his systems - I've bought from them and never had a problem. Go for it!

When buying downloads, nothing is sent to your billing address. It's required for credit card authorization but is otherwise ignored.We are far too cheap to send a notice by physical mail (US = $0.44, foreign = $0.94) about a $5.00 transaction. We do send an email notification for each transaction to the email address you enter, but you can easily opt out of that during the checkout process.

If you are buying a DVD or other physical merchandise, it is shipped to your billing address. No credit card or address information is stored anywhere in our online systems after the transaction is complete and the appropriate order fulfillment party has been notified. There's no need for us to store it and deal with the additional liability because it can be retrieved from the highly secure card processing gateways using the order number if the need arises.

As noted in several places during our checkout process, transactions will appear on your credit or debit card statement as "themothership.net" or "themothership.us". If even that is problematic for you, most Visa/MC prepaid/gift cards can be used in our card processing system. You can also use cash or money orders to fund an account at http://softokens.com, which can be used to make purchases in any Mothership-owned storefront.

I share all of the information I collect with my next door neighbor, and the guy at Starbucks that makes THE BEST lattes.

But really, we have so many customers that the odds of any particular person getting a beat-down are astronomical.
