Producers and webmasters: Now when you're posting pics to the forum, you don't have to keep clicking Browse for every single one. That gets tedious! Now you can just upload a zip file of photos. The zip file can ONLY contain photos though. No .thumbs_db files, no other folders, no videos. Just jpeg's, gif's, and png's.

That is all!

I foresee a few problems. It's been my experience that the vast majority of Windows users do not have their systems set to show hidden files, which means you're going to see a lot of thumbs.db and desktop.ini files. On Macs, I believe one of the more popular ZIP applications bundles resource files by default.

Might want to add code that deletes everything that doesn't end in ".jpg" after the unzipping.

Ah yes, it does filter out the non-picture files. Looks at the extension, sniffs the exif information, and only allows the right files. Same functions that the download store uses for its zip files. Unlike the DL store though, it'll keep the valid pictures and just throw away the junk. Thanks!

I've tested it over and over, even with a regular-user account. It's working for me every time, even if I preview first. What are you guys using to make your zip files? Would you mind uploading a copy of the zip to your bin so I can try it on my end?

Just zipping the up in the OS X.

You FTP'ed it, but it has not made it to your bin because there are items in the zip other than just .jpg files. UMD won't pass any file into your bin unless it's either a video file or a zip file containing only jpeg pics.

This could also be why your upload to the forum isn't working either.

Remember that the zip file has to only have jpeg pictures in it for it to work. If you have a folder INSIDE the zip file which contains the pics, that won't work. If you visit your bin page, UMD has messages there explaining what's going on.

i wish I could say this is why Noise's upload didn't work, but he did it properly. I uploaded his zip file myself with no results. I opened the zip file on my computer, re-zipped it using CocoaZip, and that zip file does work fine, as you can see.... I dunno. UMD doesn't like whatever you're using to make zips?
