To the UMD'ers (and everyone really) affected by today's massive Japanese earthquake and subsequent tsunami (including those potentially affected in California,Oregon, Hawaii and my region of British Columbia,Canada...) I hope you are all safe.

A lot of contribution to WAM come from Japan, I am sure we have many Japenese members here too. My deepest thoughts are with the people of Japan.

I'll bet my next paycheck on that religious retard at the 700 Club will say "The earthquake that struck Japan was God's punishment to the Japanese people for what their ancestors did in World War II"

It's such a tragic thing to happen out there. I have a friend out there, he and his family are safe, thankfully.

My Prayers are with them too. I sent out my thoughts on a post on my Facebook as soon as I saw this at 3am eastern time. I woke up and wanted to wait for the morning news to come on and some girl on my FB said something about Japan and a earthquake on her status/wall and I was like WTF?! So I turned on CNN and there it was. I wish them nothing but the best!

It was so surreal watching my country being destroyed on the Internet. My family & friends are okay in far north, but this is just so staggering.

As someone who's bought Japanese wam videos, has Japanese customers, once drove a small Japanese band on tour in Yorkshire, and has friends and models who've been there on holiday more than once, my thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan tonight.

I've been seeing the news reports through the day, and while earthquakes are something Japan has long experience of dealing with, the videos from helicopters of the tsunami sweeping everything before it - especially the one that shows farmland being engulfed by a vast tide of debris and salt water, sweeping burning cars and entire houses with it, is possibly one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen on a live news report.

The power of a natural disaster is a truly terrible thing.
