Okay so while trawling youtube I came across a video by two girls who slammed people who get aroused by pie in the face videos (among other things).

To a degree they have a point, but at the same time I don't think they have a leg to stand on. Considering you are putting videos out there for all to see, chances are you'll attract some pretty shifty people.

So basically, my point is this, if you put videos up on youtube, do you have a right to complain when you attract people with a fetish?

A channel owner is free to delete any comments that they deem offensive. I have no idea why this option is not used more...I read a lot of crap on other people's channels...no channel owner is obligated to leave one word up there that they find the slightest bit uncomfortable...so why don't more people just zap the crap?

A channel owner may also disable ratings if they wish.

And they may also set preferences to that all posted comments to into a holding tank to be approved by the channel owner before they are posted.

You can disable comments on videos entirely. Yup. Just muzzle the whole world.

And on my channel, that is what I did.

Yeah. I certainly do. And no apologies for disabling comments on my videos will be offered.

I don't want to spend time guarding my channel against trolls who wandered in and don't know me or have any clue at all as to what I'm doing. If anybody has anything to say to me, they may contact me privately...

...and since most trolls seem to require an audience, I really don't hear much negativity privately.

There are a number of people on Youtube that request pies in the face from any female who does anything remotely messy. Sometimes it's in video comments and sometimes it's in a private message. Well, occasionally one of them figures out that these people aren't just making innocent dares. I've seen the same sort of thing with foot fetishists ("do a video showing your shoe collection"). Last month we got rid of AntDX316: http://umd.net/forums/hot_blonde_pied?start=20 but he's still on Youtube.

Everybody has something they're aroused by that is a little, um, off the beaten path. And since nobody can really understand somebody else's fetish, you can probably expect a fair amount of criticism for it. It's not fair, but that's how people are.

And when the person criticizing you is emotionally immature--as youtube girls tend to be--you can expect that criticism to be even more cutting.

While I'm against slamming somebody for having an innocuous fetish like pies in the face, I am totally for slamming fools who don't have the good sense to keep their kinks to themselves. Public humiliation probably won't work since the average youtube WAM troll has no shame, but it still doesn't hurt to call them out on being perverts.

I really wish I had a shoe fetish. Leaving the house would always be awesome.

If anything, the joke's on them. Our boy Ant has been called out publicly on numerous occasions without one iota of change in his behavior; another public flogging ain't gonna stop him. I'm sure he's already sent dares to (literally) hundreds of 12- to 15-year-olds since Ms. Bananas posted that.
