I'm getting an icon and 'Loading Image' on the very top left of the page, only the page has loaded. I'd hate to think I'm missing some new flashy feature there!
I'm on IE7 on XP.

Just noticed that today myself. MM is clearly tinkering, and there are a bunch of newly broken functions, so I can only surmise that things are not going as planned.

The big giveaway is the wheels falling off!!

Wheels? What wheels??? We've had wheels all this time? lol

By the way, only users that have "permission" i.e. mods could see all this shenanigans.
