I'm not sure this is the sort of thing that people can be "gotten into." I suspect it is more like sexual orientation -- either you're wired this way or you aren't. In fairness, there must be thousands of people, millions globally, with some facet of this fetish/novelty yet no exposure to the information that enables the sane majority amongst us to find peace with such a preference. Raising awareness can be a service to those people. Also, no doubt a larger number of people exist who are not especially turned on by wet and messy scenarios yet who remain capable of indulging a partner's interest here. For the small percentage of them in a relationship with a WAMmer, greater public awareness could also be a good thing.
However, ultimately, a crusade to shape public opinion is unlikely to achieve any goal related to transforming the sexuality of strangers. Again the parallel to homosexuality is valid. When activists support legal equality for gay couples, they are making an important argument based on reason and human decency. When activists support "turning" straight people gay, then they are being just as silly and stupid as the deluded evangelicals convinced they can perform the reverse of that process. Though I am unable to think of even a single organization that actually does promote "turning" straight people gay, I can understand how such a hypothetical group could be seen as offensive by its nature. If there was an effort to "turn" vanilla and differently-kinked folks into WAMmers, it would first do well to seriously address the question, "to an outsider, how is this less creepy and obnoxious than trying to gayify the world?"
