Something that has been going on for a while but I kept forgetting to mention was that when you view pics through the picture archive and you click the View post link above it, it just takes you back to the pic on the picture archive not the post in question which I imagine is not only very annoying but also potentially damaging to producers business as often I see a pic in the archive gallery and click this link because the pic is so good I'm interested in where to get more.

Hey, once again I can't seem to recreate this! Which page did you encounter such a faulty link? That really would be annoying, so I'll try to find out what's going on and fix it. If you can remember which page the link was on or whatever, please let me know. I'm clicking a ton of them and they all go right to the post....

Thats easy, all of them. I'm on the archive gallery and see a pic, I open the pic then click the link "View post" and it just reloads the same page. I am using IE8 by the way if that helps

It does exactly the same for me.

Perhaps it's an IE8 issue. I'm using Firefox and everything works just fine. I click on the pic..... click on the "view post" and it takes me directly to the post where the pic originated from.

Are you guys viewing images in a pop-up or right on the site?

I think they are on the site in this instance although I do have popups allowed for UMD too

That one link to view the originating post, is done through Javascript. It's one of the only places here where I use something like that for such a basic function as a simple link!

It is necessary because if the link happens to appear in a pop-up window, the link to view the post must 1) target the link back to the original full window instead of pulling the whole site up in that little picture window, and 2) close that pop-up. Only javascript can do this.

It seems that some browsers won't allow this linking back-reference, perhaps due to security. I'm looking into it.
